Things that Can’t be Bought
Some things, I’ve thought,
That can’t be boughlt
Have value more than gold.
As old I’ve grown,
And time has flown,
Unnoticed truths unfold.
A friendly smile
Sent by a child
Will leave my heart delighted.
She could not know
I felt a glow
Which her smile had ignited.
Kind words of cheer
And praise I hear
That some might take for granted.
My heart makes room
For buds that bloom
From seeds of love there planted.
I have in mind
Such things in kind
Where price is not involved.
I could not try
These things to buy
From love they have evolved.
