The Journey Home

So many miles I’ve left behind,
with fewer left for me to go.
My steps are feeling heavier,
the going is becoming slow.

I have encountered obstacles.
I have met stress, I have felt pain
Both good and evil have prevailed
and acts of God I can’t explain.

I fear the turmoil in the world,
I fear  the path that lies ahead,
I fear destruction that will leave
tens of millions lying dead.

But blessings that I have received
black out man’s envy, hatred, greed.
The gifts of Faith, the Grace of God
are blessings that fulfill my needs.

My faith is strong, and I believe
a guardan angel God wll send
to help assuage my mounting fears,
and guide me toward my journey’s end.

From time to time I seem to sense
a presence walking by my side.
I cannot see, but yet I hear
footsteps that match mine stride for stride.

And then I sense a message come
in a soft and reassuring tone,
“Fear not, my son, just keep your faith.
I will not let you stand alone.”

“Concern yourself not with the world,
its many problems you can’t solve.
Maintain your love and faith in God.
In time you’ll see the cures evolve.
